TYPE LOCALITY: ".. only found in the closest forests of Java," [ Indonesia] .

DISTRIBUTION: S Vietnam, Thailand to Java; Borneo.

SYNONYMS: aurantiacus Wagner, 1841; platyurus (Jentink, 1890); sagitta ( Linnaeus, 1766, part).

COMMENTS: Formerly called sagitta ; see Medway (1977:104). Includes platyurus ( Hill, 1961c; Medway, 1977:104; Corbet and Hill, 1992).
