TYPE LOCALITY: Tanzania, Usambara, Lushoto, Wilhelmsthal .
DISTRIBUTION: C and E Tanzania.
SYNONYMS: byatti (Kershaw, 1923); laetus ( Allen and Loveridge, 1933).
COMMENTS: It is possible that vexillarius and byatti are separate species, as treated by Allen (1939) and Ellerman (1940). Amtmann (1975) combined them but stated that they may be distinct species.
