Basionym: Nolanea substrictior Largent, Entol. View in CoL Fungi of the West. US and Alaska: 274, 1994, published as N. substrictia (incorrect orthographic variant).
Blocking name: Entoloma substrictium Murrill (1939: 368) .
Etymology: The species is named for its hyphae of pileitrama with incrusted pigment.
Remark: Murrill (1939: 368) published Entoloma substrictium as E. substrictius (incorrect orthographic variant). Blanco-Dios (2015: 37) made new combination E. substrictium (Largent) Blanco-Dios which is an illegitimate combination due to the existence of E. substrictium Murrill.
