Genus Laoennea Páll-Gergely View in CoL , new genus
Type species. Laoennea carychioides Páll-Gergely, A. Reischütz & Maassen View in CoL , new species.
Diagnosis. As in the type species.
Differential diagnosis. Laoennea , new genus, differs from Sinoennea by the conspicuously narrowed last whorl and relatively inflated penultimate whorl, the absence of a swelling behind the peristome (= the columellar lamella is not situated deep, as in Sinoennea ), the nearly continuous, long parietal lamella, and the presence of a single palatal (lablar) denticle instead of the usual two in Sinoennea .
Etymology. The name Laoennea is the combination of the country, where the type species was found ( Laos) and Ennea H. Adams & A. Adams, 1855 (generic name that used to be widely used for high-spired Streptaxidae ).
