Type material. Holotype ♀ [not examined] with text data “Pin. - Fag.-Region von Kony Tschiu, Szetschuan, 1908”. Data in introduction: “Cn 1—Kony-tscheu, Pinus-Fagus Region, Szetschuan, P. Cavelerie, 1908 u. 1913”.
Comments. Since the original description and until recently, this species was known only from female specimens. It has been mentioned in 11 taxonomic publications. Xysticus sicus is known from Tibet, Sichuan (type locality), Qinghai, Shaanxi ( China), Korea and Maritime Province of Russia ( Song et al. 1999; Marusik & Koponen 2000; Platnick 2014).
