Andaman and Nicobar Islands: South Andaman—Chidiya Tapu, Sipighat; North Andaman — Karmatang, Austin; Nicobar—Kimus; Andhra Pradesh: Kakinada District—Coringa, Gaderu canal; Karnataka: Kundapur District—Rajadi bridge, Kotathattu; Maharashtra: Vikhroli, Ghatkopar; Tamil Nadu: Ramanathapuram District—Rameshwaram. Mangrove.

Habitat dependence. Specific/semi-specific—Adults and larvae. The immature stages were collected frequently in swamps in mangrove forests.
