Distribution. Kerala: Thiruvananthapuram District—Ayuramkala; Wayanad District—Periya; Malapuram District—Malapuram; Karnataka: Coorg District—Coorg; Tamil Nadu: Nilgiris District—Nilgiri Hills. All of these areas come under the Western Ghats. Non-mangrove.

Habitat dependence. Specific/semi-specific—Adults and larvae. Immature stages were found in crabholes near stream margins and banana groves in heavily shaded areas in rainforests.
