N o t e s Episyron insularis is an endemic species of the Mascarenes. The replacement name Pompilus boris DE DALLA TORRE, 1897 is a synonym of Episyron insularis , because Pompilus insularis HOLMBERG, 1881 , Epipompilus insularis KOHL, 1884 and Schistonyx insularis DE SAUSSURE, 1877 , which have been catalogued by DE DALLA TORRE (1897) under the genus Pompilus FABRICIUS, 1798 , belong currently to three different genera.
