Tellina (Pistris) pristis Lamarck, 1818 View in CoL
Habitat (inferred). Probably in muddy sand, sublittoral.
Distribution. Valves only found in harbour at Pointe Monier and on the sand dredgings at Plaine Corail.
Remarks. The Rodrigues shells are thin and not quite like T. capsoides from the Arabian/ Red Sea with which Boss (1969) synonymized pristis and ostracea. None of the taxa recorded by Viader (1937) can be interpreted as this species.
