Quadrastichus View in CoL was synonymised with Aprostocetus View in CoL by Bouček (1988). Graham & La Salle (1991) resurrected it from the synonymy and revised its status as a senior synonym of Cecidotetrastichus Kostjukov. A complete synonymy list for Quadrastichus View in CoL is provided by Graham (1991). Generic keys which would allow identification to Quadrastichus View in CoL are provided by Graham (1987 as Cecidotetrastichus ), La Salle (1994), Schauff et al. (1997) and Narendran (2007). Many species of Quadrastichus View in CoL are associated with galls, usually as endoparasitoids of Diptera View in CoL Cecidomyiidae View in CoL and Hymenoptera Cynipidae View in CoL . Its other hosts include Coleoptera View in CoL Curculionidae View in CoL and Buprestidae View in CoL (Graham 1991; La Salle 1994; Noyes 2019). Kim et al. (2004) recorded one species as an invasive pest inducing galls on coral trees ( Erythrina spp. : Fabaceae View in CoL ). In total 89 species are reported worldwide ( Noyes 2019) including 25 species from India. Narendran (2007) provided a key to the Oriental species.
