Previous records. Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, France, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Peru — Ica ( Guanilo & Martínez 2007) and Lima ( El-Banhawy 1979; Guanilo & Martínez 2007), Spain, Taiwan, Tunisia, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela.

Remarks. The original description of this species was based on a male; detailed descriptions of females were given by El-Banhawy (1979) and Schuster & Pritchard (1963) for specimens from Peru and USA (California), respectively. The females collected in this study are similar to those described by El-Banhawy (1979) and Schuster & Pritchard (1963), but differ in that the movable cheliceral digit has 2 teeth instead of 1 tooth.
