Ventrianal shield subtriangular, reticulate, 113 long, 150 wide at the anterior corners; 3 pairs of preanal setae; lyrifissures not discernible on ventrianal shield; round preanal pores posteriormesad to JV2. Peritreme extending to level between j1 and j3. Macrosetae sharp: SgeI 35, SgeII 30, SgeIII 35, StiIII 33, SgeIV 73, StiIV 55, StIV 55. Chaetotaxy of genua II and III as in female.

Remarks. Females collected in this study have spermathecal calyx ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 ) about 3 times longer than stated in the original description; however, the general shape of the spermatheca and the proportion between the length of the calyx and the diameter of the atrium of the specimens collected in this study are similar to the illustration provided in the original description. Chant & McMurtry (2004a) placed A. chungas in the aerialis species subgroup (of the obtusus species group), characterized among other aspects, by the tubular calyx. The examination of a large number of females collected in this study, including some from Chiclayo (60 km from the type locality of this species) showed that the shape of the calyx varies from almost tubular to funnelshaped.
