Ecology: cultivated, sometimes escaped and found along the edge of forests and along roads; elevation: 400-450 m ( Sagun et al. 2010).

Distribution: widespread cultivated ornamental; not known in the wild, origin unknown ( Sagun et al. 2010). Specimens examined: Timor Leste: January 1962, Cinatti, R. 201 (L [L.2182211]).
