Gynochelys Brues 1906: 108 ; Olmi 1984: 1792; 1993b: 78.

Type species. Gynochelys braunsi Brues 1906 , by monotypy.

Diagnosis. ♀: micropterous ( Figs 247B, C View FIGURE 247 ); antenna with ADOs; palpal formula: 6/3; pronotum crossed by strong transverse impression ( Fig. 247C View FIGURE 247 ), not produced into lobes directed towards tegulae ( Fig. 247C View FIGURE 247 ); enlarged claw with apex pointed, with one large subapical tooth and lamellae ( Figs 248A, B View FIGURE 248 ); tibial spurs 1/0/1. ♂: un- known.

Distribution. Afrotropical region.

Hosts. Unknown.

World species. Two species are known, both present in the Afrotropical region.
