Voucher specimens: Many in ASIZP, NMMB-P and USNM.
Remarks. This is a new record for Taiwan. This species appears to be common in deep waters around Taiwan and is mainly collected by bottom trawl. Many specimens in collections were previously mis-identified as C. japonicus .
