Type (lectotype designated here):—Dorofeev coll. K 526, specimen 13/29 (Komarov Botanical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, St.- Petersburg, Russian Federation)—figured by Dorofeev 1963: pl. 13, fig. 29.

Geography:—Belyj Yar, Kompasskij bor, right bank of Tym river, Tomsk region, Russian Federation.

Stratigraphy:—Lower Oligocene (Rupelian).

Fossil status:—Fruits.

Note:—The fossil-species is compared with fossil Schoenoplectiella palibinii (P.A. Nikitin ex V.P. Nikitin) Doweld , comb. nov.

In 1963 Dorofeev validly published fossil-species since he provided description (in Russian), illustrations and type designation as ‘ Holotype from the Oligocene sediments of Belyj Yar on of Tym river’ [translated]. Since Dorofeev did not specify the very holotype among several figured specimens (pl. 13, figs 29–37, text-fig. 18: 7–11), the lectotype is designated here from the specimens of Dorofeev (1963).
