Type (lectotype designated here):—Dorofeev coll. K 526, specimen 13/46 (Komarov Botanical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, St.- Petersburg, Russian Federation)—figured by Dorofeev 1963: pl. 13, fig. 46.

Geography:—Korolenko village, Uj river, Omsk region, Russian Federatiom.

Stratigraphy:—Lower Oligocene (Rupelian).

Fossil status:—Fruits.

Note:—The fossil-species is compared with fossil Schoenoplectiella ragozinii (Dorofeev) Doweld , comb. nov.

In 1963 Dorofeev validated the fossil-species by providing a description (in Russian), illustrations and type designation as ‘ Holotype from the Oligocene sediments revealed by the borehole 67-к near Korolenko village on the Uj river, 126.2–134.5 m depth’ [translated]. Since Dorofeev did not specify the very holotype among several figured specimens (pl. 13, figs 46–50, text-fig. 18: 25–28), a lectotype is designated here from the figured specimens of Dorofeev (1963).
