Distribution: Mahafaly ( Madagascar).

Notes: Holotype F at CAS ( CAS 18502) (2 slides OSAL007323–24 About OSAL ) . Other specimens at CAS, OSAL, UQRoo. According to Vázquez & Klompen (2010), specimens (B-9) of Hammen’s S. legendrei collected from Mahafaly is this species.

Etymology: The specific name is derived from the collecting locality, the Mahafaly plateau.
