Diagnosis. Recognisable by the combination of the following characters: body with head and disc of pronotum distinctly darker in colouration, eyes small and weakly projecting, ocular denticle present; male genitalia with short, globular parameres.
Description. Body length 3.8–4.2 mm (n=7), elongate, 3.04× longer than wide; colour red-brown, often with basal half of head and disc of pronotum distinctly darker; pubescence long, pale appressed and conspicuous; surface moderately glossy. Head transverse, 1.77× wider than long; puncturation weakly impressed and sparse medially, increasing in size and density laterally with punctures separated by about their diameter; setae long and appressed, conspicuous; microsculpture absent, surface glossy; eyes small, weakly projecting, ocular index 0.75, finely faceted, distinct postocular denticle present, often weakly developed; antennae as in Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 B, antennomere VII larger than VI and VIII. Pronotum transverse, 1.28× wider than long, widest at about anterior 1/3, sides subparallel; lateral margins explanate and reflexed, anterior and antero-medial denticles small and broadly obtuse, postero-medial and posterior denticles more prominent, narrowly obtuse to acute; disc moderately to weakly impressed; puncturation, setation and microsculpture as for head, impunctate median strip faintly visible in basal 1/ 3 to absent. Elytra elongate, 2.09× longer than wide, sides subparallel, epipleura weakly explanate; puncturation moderately dense but weakly impressed basally, becoming more dense laterally; setation long, appressed and conspicuous; microsculpture coriaceous. Genitalia for male as in Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 D, parameres small, globular and strongly narrowed basally; internal sac with faint tooth-like projections basally and a strongly sclerotized apical section.
