Pulchrapsyra Tan, Liu & Ingrisch , gen. nov.

Type species: Pulchrapsyra cyanea Tan, Liu & Ingrisch , gen. et sp. nov., by monotypy.

Diagnosis. General appearance somewhat similar to those of the genera Holochlora , Psyrana Uvarov, 1940 and Calopsyra (Parapsyra) Carl, 1914 but with the following characteristic features: head, pronotum, tegmina, body and legs dark green but with colourful patterns; tegmina fully developed, rather slender and leathery, hindwings mostly hylinous (except parts extending beyond tegmina) with reddish veins; legs rather long and slender; fore tibia with inner tympanum conchate and outer tympanum open and oval; left tegmen with its vein 1A bulbous like in Holochlora , right tegmen with vein 1A also somewhat bulbous; Radius sector (Rs) originates slightly before its middle, with the first fork about as long as stem; the veins and veinlets form small polygonal cells. The male tenth abdominal tergite large with two lateral bulbous lobes, between the lobes deeply emarginated; cercus curved with apex acute; subgenital plate very long and deeply emarginated with two apical lobes long and slender; styli inserted into the apical lobes cylindrical and short.

Included species. Type species only.

Etymology. The name of this new genus originates from two parts: the Latinised prefix “pulchra-” (“beautiful”, “lovely”) and a part of the generic name Psyra . This name refers to the colourful patterns in the new genus and its similarities to Psyra species.
