THESPIDAE View in CoL : PSEUDOMIOPTERYGINAE
Pseudomiopteryx guyanensis Chopard, 1911 — Ehrmann (2002) cited this species from Peru without reporting specimens. Pseudomioteryx is a diverse genus with an important number of undescribed, yet morphologically similar, species. Male genitalia of various Peruvian populations of Pseudomiopteryx examined showed clear differences from that of P. guyanensis (based on a syntype, examined at MNHN). We consider unlikely that P. guyanensis is found in Peru and thus we choose to remove this record from the Peruvian checklist.
