Anthidium (Pachyanthidium) Friese 1905: 66 –75. Type species: Anthidium bicolor Lepeletier View in CoL , designated by Cockerell, 1920: 298.
Diagnosis. Differs from all other subgenera by the combination of eyes naked, preoccipital carina absent laterally, and aroliae absent on all legs. In females the multidentate mandible with five to ten teeth (except four toothed only in P. micheneri Pasteels ) is unique. This subgenus is endemic to the Afrotropics.
