Saccharodite virgula Zelazny View in CoL , sp. nov.
( Fig. 315)
Description. Forewings broad, 1.8 times longer than wide, length in male 3.1–3.4 mm (mean = 3.2, n = 13). Colour stramineous to light brown; margins of facial carinae orange-red; centre of pronotum orange-red (holotype) or faintly orange or stramineous; most of frons and base of clypeus light orange; red marks on thoracic pleura, coxae, and middle and hind femora; mesonotum light brown, with an orange-red, rhomboid mark in posterior part, scutellum white; the anterior border of the rhomboid mark is not well defined, but the contrast to the white scutellum is conspicuous. Forewings glassy; faintly infuscated from apex of Cu to base of Ms1, and around apical crossveins; last subcostal sector accompanied by red; anterior apical crossveins, some sections of costal and hind margins, and veins around base of Ms1 and Ms2 bright orange-red; remaining veins stramineous to faintly orange. Hindwings colourless, but claval vein red. In profile junction of vertex and face slightly angulated; subantennal processes connected to margins of facial carinae by a ridge. Forewings with Sc+R fork at middle of wing; basal median cell broad, about 2x as wide as basal cell between Sc+R and M; a small triangle at base of Ms1. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles oval; proximal dorsal process very slender and erect, about 4x longer than wide. Aedeagus with 2 small hooks at junction of stem and apical portion; apical part large, divided by a deep, longitudinal dorsal groove, the right side with a small dorsal hook near its middle, its tip pointed and slightly curved ventrad, the left side shorter, tapering to a pointed tip.
Etymology. The species name is a Latin noun ( virgula = a small branch) used in apposition.
