Type:—[ Turkey A9 Coruh] im Gaue Artanudsh ( Ardanuc ) auf sekundarem Kalk und Mergel, 900–1200 m, 30 viii 1843, C.Koch (holo. B) .
Notes:— Verbascum oreophilum var. oreophilum has not been recorded previously from Iran. However, it is reported from the northwest in Azerbaijan ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Verbascum oreophilum var. oreophilum differs from var. joannis on filament hair color. The former variety has filaments with purple-violet hairs while the later variety has whitish yellow hairs ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 & 3).
