Syntypes:—[ Turkey C2 Denizli] in collibus calidis regionis montanae parcius, inter Yenidje (Yenice) et Gheyra (Geyre), Boissier ( G); [ CI Aydin] in vallibus Mesogis (Cevizli Da.) circa Derwend, vi 1842, Boissier ( G) .
Notes:—This taxon has not been recorded previously from Iran; we report it from northwest Iran in Azerbaijan in this paper ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). As noted below, Verbascum cheiranthifolium var. asperulum differs from var. transcaspicum on its calyx size and capsule shape ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 )
