Blapstinus punctatus (not Fabricius, 1792); Blackwelder 1945: 525 (in part, Isla de Juventud records [as “I. de Pinos”] only); Marcuzzi 1962: 36 (in part, Cuba records only), 1977: 30 (in part, Cuba records only), 1984: 81 (in part, Cuba, Isla de Juventud records only); Peck 2005: 151 (in part, Cuba records only); Steiner 2007: 103 (in part, Cuba records only).

Clapstinus punctatus ( nomen nudum); Marcuzzi

1957: 129 (in part, Cuba records only).

Remarks. The 1957 Cuba record has no specimen cited to support it, but may follow Blackwelder (1945) or be from the specimen cited in 1962. The 1962 record is from a single specimen labeled “ Cuba ” and reported to be in the Zoologische Staatssammlung, München. The 1984 record from Cuba dates to this same specimen, and the Isla de Juventud probably dates to Blackwelder (1945). Blapstinus punctatus is a Virgin Islands / Puerto Rico species and does not occur on Cuba. These records must remain incertae sedis until vouchers can be found.
