Distribution. Hispaniola, Gonaïves* (BMNH,

WIBF). Historic records for Martinique are con-

sidered errors and therefore dropped.

Remarks. The records of D. costipennis for

Martinique all date to two old specimens in the

ZSMG, labeled “ Martinique; Mouflet/ Sammlung;

Haag-; Rutenberg.” One of these bears Marcuzzi’ s

determination label of D. costipennis . The collector’ s

name is actually Alfred Moufflet, who collected widely around the world as a highly decorated physician in the French Navy ( Deyrolle 1866). He served a stint in Martinique, the apparent source of this label, but the species is restricted to Hispaniola. It seems to be a case of mislabeling, and the record from Martinique is rejected, absent any evidence to the contrary.
