Remarks.—The truncated anterior margin of the head that does not extending beyond the anterior supra-antennal plates, the posteriorly tapering posteriorly male abdomen, and the small cruciform elevation. An ochraceous species marked with piceous, with a reddish head and red hind wing venation, body length about 24.5 mm and wingspan about 65 mm ( Boulard 1980b). These characteristics quickly distinguish it from the new species.
Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar ( Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2013) without specific location information ( Boulard 1980b).
