Pycna itremensis Boulard, 2008 View in CoL
Pycna itremensis Boulard 2008: 161 View in CoL . (Surroundings of Ambatorangotina, mountain of Itrême, central Madagascar)
Remarks.—The species can be distinguished from the remaining members of the genus by the body length being greater than 37 mm. The hind wings are ochraceous with a brown spot on the base of apical cells 1–5 and brown along the distal hind wing margin. The song is a pure tone interrupted by a series of greater intensity syllables ( Boulard 2008).
Distribution.—The species is only known from Madagascar ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2013; 2020). Boulard (2008) records the species from the surroundings of Ambatorangotina, 1400–1600 m, mountain of Itrême, central Madagascar.
