Remarks.—One of the larger Madagascar species, body length 18.5 mm, wingspan 52 mm ( Boulard 1999). A castaneous species significantly marked with piceous, a primarily piceous abdomen with castaneous and white pubescence on lateral tergites 2 and 3. The song is a series of rapidly produced syllables with the syllable frequency decreasing as the song ends ( Boulard 2008).
Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar ( Sanborn 2013). Boulard (2008) reports the species from Region of Fort Dauphin, 22 km north of Ambovombré, Madagascar.
