Distribution: India: India ( Gerling et al. 1976). Elsewhere : Algeria, Egypt ( Houard 1912), Iran ( Gerling et al. 1976), Israel, Pakistan ( Bouček 1982), Tunesia.
Hosts: Tamarix sp. , T. africana , T. aphylla , T. canariensis , T. boveana , T. dioica ( Tamaricaceae ) ( Houard 1912; Robinson et al. 2023).
Remark: In Israel, the empty galls on Tamarix sp. were found to be inhabited by the ant species, Cardiocondyla wroughtoni (Forel) ( Formicidae : Hymenoptera ) ( Kugler 1983) whereas both in Israel and Pakistan, a chalcidid parasitoid, Hockeria tamaricis ( Chalcididae : Hymenoptera ) emerged from galls ( Bouček 1982).
