131. Syntormon pumilum (Meigen, 1824) (Sympycninae) — new to Portugal
Number of specimens recorded. 1.
Distribution. Europe, thus far not recorded from the Iberian Peninsula; also North Africa. Portugal: one province (Beira Litoral).
Ecology. The single Portuguese specimen was recorded from a site featuring a mosaic of cattle pastures, riparian corridors and brackish wetlands, with trees and bushes bordering the fields and the riparian corridor. In northwestern Europe, it has mostly been found in saltmarshes and brackish marshes, and to a lesser extent in swamps and riparian habitats.
