Number of specimens recorded. 149.

Distribution. Europe (see Pollet et al. 2015). Portugal: five northernmost provinces, and Estremadura.

Ecology. Recorded from all recognized macrohabitat categories in Portugal with a clear preference for agricultural lands, and to a lesser extent, grasslands and heathlands. Sympycnus pulicarius is a typical grassland species in northwestern Europe that avoids oligotrophic open habitats ( Pollet et al. 2015).

Rarity (%). 21.8 (common). Very common (FL).

Activity period. February–October.
