Number of specimens recorded. 141.
Distribution. Mainly western parts of Europe, but also recorded from the Mediterranean region and North Africa. Portugal: nine provinces (see also Naglis & Barták 2015).
Ecology. Though recorded from five macrohabitat categories, R. brevicorne shows a distinct preference for forests. In the rest of Europe it is known mainly from marshlands and springs ( Pollet 2000).
Rarity (%). 27.6 (common).
Activity period. March–October.
