REMARKS
This species is known from a few localities in western and northern Europe, but is more widely distributed in southern Europe ( Hassel 2003; Hodgetts 2015). In the Balkans, it was previously known from Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro and European Turkey ( Sabovljević et al. 2008; Ros et al. 2013; Hodgetts 2015), although it was not frequently reported. In the rest of the Mediterranean Region, it was also recorded in Baleares, Canary Islands, Corsica, Creta, France, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Sardinia, Sicily and Spain ( Ros et al. 2013; Hodgetts
2015). At the same time, this is the first record of the genus Acaulon Müll. Hal. in the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
