Remarks. This is the smallest of the Majeorona species with body lengths of about 28 mm and a wing span of less than 80 mm. The generic characters will distinguish it from other known Suriname cicadas but additional species of the genus will probably be found in the future. The species has a green head and thorax marked with piceous, a piceous abdomen, the postclypeus does not extend anteriorly beyond the supra-antennal plates when viewed from the dorsal side, and the fore wing radial and radiomedial crossveins lack infuscation. These characteristics can be used to distinguish it from other Majeorona species that may be found in Suriname eventually.

Distribution. The species has previously been reported from Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; 2014a; 2018b; 2020d; Sanborn & Maes 2012; Maes et al. 2012). The range was expanded recently to include Peru ( Sanborn 2020c).
