Promalactis huemeri Wang , sp. nov.

( Figs 8 View FIGURES 2−9 , 15 View FIGURES 10−15 , 21 View FIGURES 16−23 )

Type material. THAILAND: Holotype ♂, Chumphon, 45 km SW Lang Suon (9°46′N, 98°46′E), 170 m, 18.XI.2006, coll. P. Huemer, slide No. GEL 1113 ( TLMF) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 2♀, same data as holotype, slide No. GEL 1112. GoogleMaps

DiagNosis. This new species closely resembles P. conicispinalis Wang, Du et Li, 2013 in both the forewing pattern and the male genital structures. It can be distinguished by the uncus with basal half arched laterally, the valva produced to a digitate process dorsoapically, and the aedeagus distinctly shorter than the valva. In P. conicispinalis , the basal half of the uncus is sub-parallel, the valva is distally narrowed and not produced dorsoapically, and the aedeagus is almost as long as the valva.

DescriptioN. Adult ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 2−9 ) wingspan 10.0−12.0 mm. Head with vertex shining white, frons and occiput dark ochreous brown. Labial palpus with first and second segments ochreous yellow on inside, rusty red on outside; third segment black, as long as second. Antenna white on dorsal surface, dark brown on ventral surface. Thorax, tegula and forewing dark ochreous brown. Forewing with white speckles edged with black scales: basal fascia from basal 1/5 of dorsum to base of fold; antemedian fascia from middle of dorsum to middle of upper margin of cell, parallel to basal fascia; costal spot large, round, extending from basal 3/4 of costa to lower angle of cell; tornal spot small, deep gray, ill-defined; apical spot small, black; cilia ochreous yellow, deep gray along distal part of costal margin and along dorsum. Hindwing and cilia gray. Foreleg black, tarsus marked with white at apex of each tarsomere dorsally; mid femur pale yellow, tibia and tarsus yellow on ventral surface, black on dorsal surface; hindleg yellow on ventral surface, grayish black on dorsal surface, tarsus marked with white at apex of each tarsomere dorsally.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 10−15 ). Uncus with basal 2/5 broadly sub-rounded, arched outward laterally, distal 3/5 furcate and each lobe narrowed to pointed apex. Gnathos membranous, indistinct. Tegumen divided from near posterior margin, narrow, obtuse at anterior end. Valva with basal 2/3 broad, slightly narrowed beyond basal 2/3, then widened to apex, produced to a digitate process dorsoapically, rounded ventroapically; distal 1/4 with dense spines and long setae on ventral half, with a narrow digitate process arising from base below costa reaching middle of costa apically. Costa concave medially. Sacculus wide at base, narrowed to 2/3, distal 1/3 fused with valva. Saccus short, about 3/5 length of uncus, wide at base, narrowed to rounded apex. Juxta stout, sub-elliptical, slightly curved, apically reaching middle of uncus, with a small tuft of setae before apex; basal lobe almost as long as saccus, truncate at apex. Aedeagus relatively slender, pointed apically, approximately 4/5 length of valva; cornutus absent.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 16−23 ): Apophyses anteriores shorter than half length of apophyses posteriores. Ostium bursae sub-rounded, with sclerotized lateral ridge enlarged in triangle posteriorly. Lamella postvaginalis near posterior margin of eighth sternite, sub-triangular, narrowed to rounded apex, spinous and erect. Ductus bursae membranous, twice as long as corpus bursae. Corpus bursae sub-rounded, with granules; signum with basal plate rhomboic, bearing several spines.

DistributioN. Thailand (Chumphon).

Etymology. The specific epithet is named after Dr. Peter Huemer (TLMF) who collected and loaned the specimens.
