Types. Holotype. Male (MZSP 20570), Estação Ecológica Uruçuíma, Piauí, Brazil. Paratypes: Female (IBSP 8553), Toca da Esperança, Central, Bahia, Brazil, A. D. Brescovit et al. leg., VII. 2000; female (MZSP 18986), Morro do Chapéu, Bahia, Brazil, G. Skuk leg., 3.X.1990; female (MZSP 9510), Central, Bahia, Brazil, E.F. Ramos leg., 15–20.VII.1997.
Etymology. The specific name is combined from the Latin words for red and black, for the coloration of the legs, red in the proximal portion and black in the distal portion (fig. 39).

Diagnosis. May be distinguished by coloration of the legs: reddish on basal region and dark on distal end ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 38 – 39 ). Males may be distinguished by having bulb long, thin, and slightly curved in distal portion ( Figs. 35–36 View FIGURES 34 – 37 ). Females may be distinguished by long spermathecae receptaculum, with lobes on distal end and a small basal lobe towards outside ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 34 – 37 ).
Description. Male (Holotype). Total length: 19.87. Carapace: length 8.12; width 7.14. Eye tubercle: length 1.26; width 1.73. Labium: length 0.64; width 1.3. Sternum: length 4.12; width 3.41. Basal segment of chelicera with 8 teeth. Labium with 9 cuspules. Maxilla with 15–21 cuspules. Thoracic furrow straight. Palp: femur 4.81/ patella 3.01/ tibia 4.03/ cymbium 1.64/ total 13.49. Legs I: femur 7.05/ patella 4.24/ tibia 5.61/ metatarsus 5.89/ tarsus 3.13/ total 25.83. II: 6.79/ 3.98/ 5.35/ 5.48/ 3.07/ 24.67. III: 6.01/ 3.05/ 4.58/ 5.35/ 2.95/ 21.94 IV: 7.77/ 3.72/ 6.92/ 7.57/ 3.65 / 29.63. Retrolateral lobe of cymbium slightly larger than prolateral lobe. Male palpal bulb long, thin and slightly curved at its distal end ( Figs. 35– 36 View FIGURES 34 – 37 ). Retrolateral branch of tibial spur with spine inserted at its midlength, prolateral branch smaller than adjacent spine ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 34 – 37 ). Metatarsus I slightly curved, does not touch tibial spur when flexed. Carapace reddish. Abdomen dark. Legs reddish on basal region (trochanter and femur) and dark distally (patella, tibia, metatarsus, and tarsus) ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 38 – 39 ).
Female (Paratype IBSP 8553). Total length: 32.4. Carapace: length 10.96; width 9.52. Eye tubercle: length 1.6; width 2.29. Labium: length 1.01; width 1.93. Sternum: length 5.49; width 4.37. Basal segment of chelicera with 9 teeth. Labium with 3 cuspules. Maxilla with 25–26 cuspules. Thoracic furrow straight. Palp: femur 5.7/ patella 3.81/ tibia 3.41/ tarsus 3.71/ total 16.63. Legs I: femur 7.7/ patella 5.28/ tibia 5.8/ metatarsus 5.09/ tarsus 2.93/ total 26.8. II: 7.24/ 4.83/ 5.28/ 4.76/ 3/ 25.11. III: 6.59/ 3.91/ 4.69/ 5.15/ 3/ 23.34. IV: 8.36/ 4.62/ 7.38/ 7.46/ 3.32 / 31.14.
