Material examined: JAPAN: Holotype male of Cladopelma hibaraprima Sasa ( NSM no. A 223: 18), Fukushima Prefecture, Aizu District, Hibara Lake, light trap, 5–6.viii.1991, M. Sasa. Holotype male of Cladopelma onogawaprima Sasa ( NSM no. A 224: 06), Fukushima Prefecture, Aizu District, Onogawa Lake, light trap, 5– 6.viii.1991, M. Sasa.

Remarks: Based on the examination of the holotype of Cladopelma hibaraprima Sasa , we transfer the species to Cryptotendipes as the species has a short gonostylus, which is slightly swollen basally and concave mesially, and a parallel-sided anal point without setae and microtrichia ( Figs 12–13 ). The above characters fit the diagnosis of Cryptotendipes , while Cladopelma species have elongate, curved, usually partially constricted and pointed gonostylus, and are often bearing setae and microtrichia on the anal point.

The holotype of Cladopelma onogawaprima Sasa was also re-examined. We found some errors in the original descriptions and figures ( Sasa 1993). The superior volsella is slightly longer than wide, with 1–3 short setae and covered with microtrichia. However, we could not find any differences between this species and Cryptotendipes hibaraprima (Sasa) , and place it as a new synonym of C. hibaraprima .
