Sertularella gaudichaudi (Lamouroux, 1824)
Material examined: BBB 2016: St. 13.
Distribution: Southern hemisphere, Kerguelen and Crozet shelves ( Millard 1977), off Bouvet Is. ( Peña Cantero & Gili 2006), South Shetland islands ( Stepanjants 1979). In the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean the species was reported in Malvinas / Falkland Islands ( Kirchenpauer 1884 as Sertularella gaudichaudii ).
Remarks: We found unfertile colonies detached from the substrate.
Sertularella gayi (Lamouroux, 1821)
Material examined: BBB 2016: St. 12; St. 33; St. 34; St. 39.
Distribution: Atlantic species with a wide distributional range in the tropical, sub-tropical and temperate waters; also reported in New Zealand ( Vervoort 1972). In the southwestern Atlantic Ocean the species was previously reported in Argentina from 41°S to 56°S ( Oliveira et al. 2016). Blanco (1994) reported this species (as S. gayi gayi ) at Burdwood bank, 380–400 m depth; consequently this is the first record in MPA Namuncurá I.
Remarks: Big and unfertile colonies were found.
