Stilobezzia (Stilobezzia) hirta Borkent View in CoL

Stilobezzia pruinosa Wirth, 1952: 203 View in CoL . California. (male, female; figs.;). Preoccupied by Acanthohelea pruinosa Kieffer, 1917: 198 View in CoL .

Stilobezzia (Stilobezzia) pruinosa: Wirth 1953: 79 View in CoL (description male, female; fig. male genitalia; Florida records); Wirth 1965: 134 (in Nearctic catalog north of Mexico; Arizona, Virginia); Wilkening et al. 1985: 526 (Florida records). Stilobezzia (Stilobezzia) hirta Borkent, in Borkent & Wirth, 1997: 111 View in CoL (new name for Stilobezzia pruinosa Wirth View in CoL ); Borkent & Grogan 2009: 22 (in Nearctic catalog north of Mexico; distribution); Borkent 2016: 141 (in online World catalog).

Discussion. This species is apparently widespread in the Nearctic region, however, it has only been recorded from Arizona, California (type locality), Florida, New Mexico, Texas and Virginia ( Borkent & Grogan 2009). We provide the first record in the Neotropical region from the state of Veracruz, Mexico.
