Pleurotus djamor* (Rumph. ex Fr.) Boedijn, Rumphius Memorial Volume View in CoL :292 (1959)
Remarks: This species is recognizable by the white to deep salmon basidiome, although recent studies suggest that difference in the pileus color does not support species separation in the genus (Menolli Jr. et al. 2014).An edible species, commonly known as pink oyster mushroom, it has several nutritional and nutraceutical attributes ( Khan & Tania 2012) and great cultural importance too ( Ruán-Soto et al. 2006).
Ecology & Distribution: Growing on deciduous wood. It is a Worldwide species (Menolli Jr. et al. 2014). In Brazil, it is known for the states of Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia and São Paulo (Menolli Jr. et al. 2014). Our specimen is the first record for the Cerrado region.
