Coriolopsis aspera* (Jungh.) Teng View in CoL , Chung-kuo Ti Chen-chun, [Fungi of China]:759 (1963)
Remarks: This species is characterized by reddishbrown basidiomes with large pores (3-4 per mm) and forked hairs erecting from the pilear surface, which later disappear leaving a more finely scrupose to warted surface ( Trierveiler-Pereira et al. 2009). It can be mistaken for Coriolopsis hostmanii (Berk.) Ryvarden , but it is distinguished by pore size (6–8 per mm in C. hostmannii ).
Ecology & Distribution: Growing on deciduous wood. Pantropical distribution ( Trierveiler-Pereira et al. 2009). In Brazil it is recorded for the states of Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo ( Flora do Brasil 2020). First record for the Cerrado region.
