Cypridea (Sebastianites?) mataensis Krömmelbein, 1962

Diagnosis: A high-backed Cypridea (Sebastianites?) species mostly with a well rounded anterior cardinal angle at the beginning of the second third of the carapace (which is also the maximum carapace height), and with a similarlyformed posterior cardinal angle at the beginning of the posterior carapace quarter. The aforementioned distinguishing features are more clearly developed on the right valve than on the left valve. The ventral margin is markedly convex, particularly on the larger left valve, almost straight on the right valve. Rostrum and rostral groove are weakly developed, but always present. No rostral sulcus. Below the dorsum (especially on the left valve) is a flat, rather roundish, sulcus-like depression. Pits on the entire carapace surface, rather more distinctly present towards the free valve margins.
