Diagnosis. Males of this species can be recognized by the mesosternum less than twice the length of the metasternum and a pair of elongate posterolateral projections of the pygophore ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 40 – 45 ), whereas those of E. elongatus have the pygophore without posterolateral projections and those of E. romglao have a pair of small knoblike lateral projections.

Discussion. This species has been reported from India, Myanmar, and Thailand ( Andersen 1982b, Vitheepradit & Sites 2007). The Thai record was based on a single winged male caught in a malaise trap on a trail near a small creek in Phu Hin Rongkla NP ( Vitheepradit & Sites 2007). We have attempted to collect this species several times from 2010 to 2012 at that locality and adjacent areas, including a nearby creek. However, no additional specimens were collected. So far, in Thailand this species has not been collected anywhere other than in Phu Hin Rongkla NP in Loei Province.

Material examined. THAILAND: Phitsanulok Province: Phu Hin Rongkla NP, Man Daeng Noi at trail, 16°57'N 101°03'E, 1600 m, 21 Sept – 21 Oct 2002, coll: CMU team (1 winged male).
