Type material. Uruguay: Colonia. Holotype ♀: Cerros de San Juan [34°13′S 57°55′W], 30 September 1984, E. Gudynas, G. Skuk & J.C. Gambarotta ( MNHN 1372 About MNHN ). GoogleMaps

Etymology. The specific epithet is a patronym in honour of my friend, Rafael Cobo.

Other material examined. Known only from the type specimen.

Diagnosis. The female of A. coboi can be distinguished from those of all other species in the genus by the shape of their spermathecae ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ) with an apical lobe diagonally directed; similar to that of A. indiamuerta from which it differs by the more numerous retrolateral spines on tibia II and the labium shape ( Fig. 2B, E View FIGURE 2 ). Males are unknown.

Description. ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 A–E). Female holotype (MNHN 1372). Total length: 16.00. Carapace ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ): length 5.30, width 5.00; with 12 bristles on each lobe of the posterior margin ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ); cephalic region: length 3.20, width 4.40; clypeus small with 15 bristles, 11 on chillum; 10 bristles between PME, 5 behind each PME-PLE, 6 bristles and one larger on both sides of ocular group. Fovea: length 0.80, width 2.50. Eyes, diameters and interdistances: AME 0.16, ALE 0.42, PME 0.21, PLE 0.26, ocular group 1.00, anterior width 2.75, 2.54 posterior width; AME-ALE 0.75, PME- PLE 0.21, AME-PME 0.47, ALE-PLE 0.53, AME-AME 0.16. Chelicerae: Length 2.80, width 1.90, cheliceral apex with 15 recumbent and elongated bristles covering base of fang. Rastellum with 11 marginal, blunt spines and 7 small dorsal. Cheliceral furrow ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ) with 6 promarginal and 7 retromarginal teeth and 9 denticles in furrow, near promargin. Labium: length 0.84, width 1.11, with 10 anterior cuspules. Maxillae: anterior length 1.85, posterior length 2.12, width 1.59, with ~60 cuspules 1: 3 V ANT, expanding to anterior face. Sternum: Center flat ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ), length: 4.03, maximum wide 3.29, minimum width 1.11. Postlabial sigilla deep, posterior ones shallow, well defined. Abdomen: length 8.00, covered by dark bristles. PMS: length 0.79; PLS with basal: medial: apical articles 0.79:0.32:0.16. Spigots: 2 large, 30 small on PMS; PLS, numbers of large (small) spigots on basal: medial: apical article 3(35):2(30):0(~60). Lengths of legs and palp: I: 3.18, 1.85, 1.32, 1.85, 0.95, 9.15. II: 2.91, 2.12, 1.48, 1.85, 0.90, 9.26. III: 3.18, 2.38, 0.52, 2.38, 0.52, 8.98. IV: 3.71, 2.27, 2.38, 2.38, 0.52, 11.27. Palp: 2.91, 1.85, 2.12,–, 2.12, 10.10.
