Diactor bilineatus ( Fabricius, 1803) View in CoL
( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13–18 )
Distribution. Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras and Peru (Bl̂te 1936, Froeschner 1981, Packauskas 2010, van der Heyden 2014, Eger et al. 2015, Linares & Orozco 2017). Mattei & Mattei (2017) reported this species from Amazonas, Venezuela, which was formally published in Cazorla (2021). Ecuador, Panama, and Bolivia are new country records. Despite being recorded from Peru (Bl̂te 1936) and Ecuador ( Froeschner 1981), no subsequent papers (including Packauskas’ 2010 catalog) included either country in the known distribution; the checklist of Honduras ( Linares & Orozco 2017) only listed Brazil as the known distribution (citing only Packauskas 2010). As previously warned in Leavengood (2020), literature records must be vetted thoroughly to minimize the omission of data from less available journal sources.
