Distribution. Known from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela ( Coscarón & Pall 2015, Maes & Ĝllner-Scheiding 1993). Dominican Republic and Surinam are new country records. Brailovsky & Perez-Gelabert (2019) suggested that records of L. cinctus from the Dominican Republic are probably misidentifications. Our present understanding of this species suggests past records from the Dominican Republic may, in fact, not be erroneous after all.

Material Examined. New Records. Dominican Republic: Distrito Nacional: La Victoria , 7-VIII-1967 (TAMU; 1) ; Surinam: Paramaribo, 4-IX-1943, David G Hall ( NMNH, 2) .
