Recognition. This species is distinguished by the unspotted wings, absence of auxiliary crossvein between R2+3 and R4 and yellowish brown prosternum.
Description (wing length 1.8–1.9 mm). Male. Head: Slender, tapered ventrally. Clypeus and face with greyish pruinescence, extending dorsally to ocellar triangle; occiput dark brown. Ocellar triangle with pair of stout upturned setae. Antenna dark brown.
Thorax: Scutum dark brown, dull, without stripes. Pleura dark brown with whitish pruinescence; prosternum yellowish brown. Several very minute acrostichals anterior to first dc; 5 dc; 1 pprn; 1 presut spal; 1 upper npl, lower npl very slender, short; 1 pal; 2 sctl subequal in length with prescutellar dc. Laterotergite with several brownish setulae.
Legs: Fore coxa and femora yellow; mid and hind coxae yellowish brown; tibiae and tarsi darkening apically.
Wing: Narrow; infuscate; single long basal costal seta present; R4 branching acutely from R5, V-shaped; auxiliary crossvein absent; irrorations absent, lacking spots. Halter yellowish.
Abdomen: Sclerites brown, shiny, concolourous with thorax. Terminalia ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES1–4 ): Hypandrium subtriangular, with 3 lateral setae. Phallus slender, gently arched; distiphallus with pigmented dorsal margin, with membranous sac beneath. Ejaculatory apodeme oval. Epandrium subrectangular, with several long, stout marginal dorsal setae; dorsal margin with sharp edge. Clasping cercus digitiform, strongly curved, longer than epandrium; apex rounded with inner peg-like seta. Cercal plate with 2 long setae. Lobe of subepandrial sclerite slender, extended beyond surstylus and epandrium. Surstylus well separated from epandrium, strongly curved, with round apex.
Female. Similar to male. Cercus long, length about 2X basal width.
Etymology. The species name is from the Latin immaculata (unspotted, unstained), in reference to the unspotted wings.
Distribution. This species is known from moist hill evergreen forest at 2,500 m near the summit of Doi Inthanon (Thanon Thongchai Range) in northern Thailand and from 1,600 m at Phu Hin Rong Kla (Petchabun Range), northeast Thailand ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 17–23 ).
Remarks. Capture dates between October and December indicate that this species is active during the cold season. The clasping cercus is similar to D. orientalis Yang, Zhu & An , but in the latter species the wing has six distinct white spots ( Yang et al. 2006, figs 1–3).
