Type species — Lamia spinosa Say, 1826 View in CoL (monotypy) [= Dectes sayi Dillon & Dillon, 1953 View in CoL ].
Diagnosis. Antennae longer than body in both sexes; pronotum broader than long, subcylindrical, sides acutely spined before basal impression; prosternum narrow, prosternal process laminiform; elytra a little more than twice as long as broad; basal metatarsomere as long as the two following together. Number of species currently included: 3; in Mexico: 2.
